Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot has urged parties that split from the Congress to return to its fold, backing a broader merger for opposition unity. His remarks come after Shiv Sena UBT leader Sanjay Raut suggested that parties like the TMC and NCP-SP, which emerged after leaders left Congress, should reunite with the party. Raut also called on Sharad Pawar to lead efforts to bring together ideologically similar parties, arguing that such unity could pose a strong challenge to the BJP.
