The Congress party has launched a sharp attack on the Centre after commercial LPG cylinder prices were increased across major cities from June 1. Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of fuelling inflation, Congress claimed commercial LPG prices have surged by nearly ₹1,572 over the past five months. The latest hike has intensified the political debate over rising fuel costs, even as the government maintains that India has adequate fuel reserves and no supply shortage.
